Sonny Gray Highlights Free Agent Pitchers Red Sox Could Pursue This Winter

Veteran right-hander Sonny Gray is set to become a free agent after a sensational debut season with the Boston Red Sox where he led MLB with 18 wins, a 2.72 ERA, and a 1.148 WHIP across 29 starts as the de facto ace. Without him, Boston's projected 2027 rotation remains left-handed heavy. If Gray leaves, potential right-handed free agent targets for the Red Sox include Michael King, Kevin Gausman, Nick Martinez, Casey Mize, and Freddy Peralta.
