New York Islanders forward Mathew Barzal has been skating on his own as he recovers from a knee injury, but there is currently no timeline for his return according to Andrew Gross of Newsday. Barzal has not played yet in the 2026-27 campaign. Once he resumes practicing fully with his teammates, a clearer picture of his recovery timeline should emerge. He posted 19 goals and 72 points in 81 appearances during the 2025-26 season.
