Garrett Cleavinger Dropped From Tampa Bay Rays ALCS Active Roster

Left-hander Garrett Cleavinger was dropped from the Tampa Bay Rays' AL Championship Series roster as the team altered their pitching staff, adding rookie right-hander Brody Hopkins instead. Cleavinger finished the regular season with a 4.79 ERA over 51 appearances spanning 41 1/3 innings. He did not pitch during the AL East champion Rays' sweep of the New York Yankees in the Division Series, making room for fresh bullpen arms ahead of the matchup against the Cleveland Guardians.
