Spencer Strider Facing Workload Limitations in 2027

Atlanta Braves general manager Alex Anthopoulos announced that right-hander Spencer Strider will be a rotation option in 2027, but the team will not count on him to fill the role across all 162 games. Strider struggled following internal brace surgery in 2025 with a 4.45 ERA over 23 regular-season starts and made just eight appearances in 2026 due to oblique and elbow issues. He landed on the IL in mid-June with elbow inflammation and missed the remainder of the season.
