Igor Shesterkin Out for Season With Knee Injury as Rangers Search for Options

New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin will miss the remainder of the 2026-27 season due to a severe right knee injury suffered when his leg jammed into the post against Washington. The star netminder requires surgery and rehabilitation, ending his campaign with a 3-1-0 record, 1.79 GAA, and .927 save percentage. With backup Joonas Korpisalo also sidelined on injured reserve, the Rangers are relying on Dylan Garand while exploring trade and free-agent replacement options.
