Nick Schmaltz Nets Go-Ahead Power-Play Goal in Utah's Win Over Sabres

Nick Schmaltz scored the go-ahead power-play goal, added four shots on net, and blocked two shots in Saturday's 4-1 victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Schmaltz capitalized on a setup pass from Logan Cooley to beat Colten Ellis at the far post. The 30-year-old forward is off to a hot start in 2026-27, recording six goals—including a league-leading four on the power play—and eight points through six games. He remains a key offensive contributor following his first career 30-goal campaign.
