Dylan Garand Takes Over as Rangers Goaltender After Igor Shesterkin Injury
Dylan Garand has taken over as the starting goaltender for the New York Rangers following a season-ending knee injury to Igor Shesterkin and a lower-body injury to backup Joonas Korpisalo. The 24-year-old was placed on waivers before the season before being recalled on Oct. 1. Garand recorded a shutout against Detroit last week and stopped 11 of 12 shots in relief on Friday. Head coach Mike Sullivan confirmed Garand will handle the bulk of the workload.
