William Eklund Out for Extended Period With Severe Ankle Injury

Ottawa Senators forward William Eklund is out for an extended period after suffering a severe left ankle injury in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Philadelphia Flyers. Eklund jammed his skate hard into the base of the boards following a hit from Simon Benoit in the first period and required assistance leaving the ice. Acquired from San Jose in the offseason, the 24-year-old's absence forces Ottawa to adjust its top-six forward lines.
