Simon Edvinsson Drawing Trade Interest From Ten Teams Amid Contract Talks

As many as ten NHL teams have contacted the Detroit Red Wings regarding restricted free agent defenseman Simon Edvinsson. While Detroit prefers to re-sign the 23-year-old blueliner and remains flexible on contract term, a sizeable gap remains regarding his annual cap hit. Edvinsson recorded 25 points in 72 games last season, and Vancouver's Zeev Buium contract ($9.38M AAV) is seen as a potential baseline for negotiations.
