Deommodore Lenoir and 49ers Weigh Shadowing Jaxon Smith-Njigba

San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Raheem Morris explained why cornerback Deommodore Lenoir will not strictly shadow Seattle Seahawks star receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba on Sunday. While Lenoir will match up with Smith-Njigba at various points, modern offensive formations and pre-snap movement make traditional shadowing ineffective. The 49ers aim to rely on their defensive system to limit explosive plays and contain the red-hot wide receiver who has amassed 481 yards and six touchdowns.
