Anthony Davis Unlikely to Receive Maximum Extension from Wizards

Washington Wizards forward Anthony Davis is unlikely to receive a maximum contract extension, according to reports from The Athletic. While Davis holds a $62.8 million player option for the 2027-28 season and desires a max deal, the Wizards are hesitant due to his age, injury history, and the team's ongoing developmental stage and salary cap flexibility goals as they evaluate their medium-term roster building.
