Luis Perales Struggles to Find Command in Difficult Major League Debut

Acquired by the Washington Nationals in a trade for Jake Bennett, flame-throwing RHP Luis Perales struggled significantly in his first MLB action following Tommy John surgery. Across 6 major league appearances and 11 innings, Perales posted a disastrous -0.5 fWAR, surrendering 14 runs, 15 hits, and 5 homers with 13 walks. While his triple-digit fastball and nasty splitter show raw potential, his severe control issues have made him a major early question mark.
