Juuso Valimaki Recalled by Hurricanes From AHL Chicago

The Carolina Hurricanes have recalled 27-year-old defenseman Juuso Valimaki from the AHL's Chicago Wolves. One of the final cuts from training camp, Valimaki brings 271 games of NHL experience, featuring 11 goals and 72 points. The move comes after Charles Alexis Legault was reassigned on Saturday, leaving Carolina with six defensemen. The 6-foot-2 left-shot defender could make his Hurricanes debut as early as Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens or serve as depth.
