Matt Gulbin Struggles in First Start During Commanders Loss

Washington Commanders sixth-round rookie guard Matt Gulbin made his first career start against the Indianapolis Colts in London, replacing Nick Allegretti. Gulbin struggled against All-Pro defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, getting beaten cleanly on a key play that resulted in quarterback Marcus Mariota's MCL sprain. General manager Adam Peters previously expressed comfort with the interior line depth, but the rookie's early struggles highlighted ongoing offensive line woes.
