Simon Edvinsson Prefers Trade From Detroit Amid Contract Stalemate

Detroit Red Wings restricted free agent defenseman Simon Edvinsson prefers a trade away from the team as his contract situation lingers into the 2026-27 campaign. After attending camp without a deal, the 6-foot-6 blueliner returned to Sweden to skate. While Detroit's priority remains signing the 23-year-old former No. 6 overall pick, his frustration has sparked heavy trade interest from struggling clubs like the Philadelphia Flyers looking to bolster their backend.
