Kirill Marchenko Embraces New Top-Line and Power-Play Roles with Maple Leafs

Following his trade from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Kirill Marchenko logged his first practice with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday. Marchenko skated on the top line's left wing alongside Auston Matthews and Jack Roslovic, noting he feels comfortable on his off-wing after playing there for three KHL seasons. Head coach Jim Hiller also placed Marchenko in the bumper role on the primary power-play unit. Marchenko, who recorded an assist in his team debut, prepares for his third game Saturday against Ottawa.
