Dylan Garand Secures First Career NHL Shutout in Rangers Win

Dylan Garand made 22 saves for his first career NHL shutout, leading the New York Rangers to a 2-0 victory over Detroit. Recalled following Joonas Korpisalo's placement on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, Garand capped a whirlwind week after clearing waivers just days prior. Sean Durzi scored on a first-period power play and Eeli Tolvanen added an empty-netter to help New York spoil the Red Wings' season opener, with Garand shining brightly.
