Joel Hofer Stops 25 Shots for Shutout in Blues' Opening Win
Joel Hofer stopped 25 shots for his ninth career shutout as the St. Louis Blues defeated the Dallas Stars 4-0 in their season opener. Mason McTavish scored just 94 seconds into his Blues debut, followed by a second-period goal from Dalibor Dvorsky and late empty-netters from Jimmy Snuggerud and Pius Suter. Hofer posted a stellar performance to set a strong tone right out of the gate as he looks ready to handle a starter's workload alongside Jordan Binnington.
