Los Angeles Rams Waive Wide Receiver And Returner Xavier Smith

The Los Angeles Rams waived wide receiver and primary punt returner Xavier Smith on Friday, less than 24 hours after special teams coordinator Bubba Ventrone expressed trust in him. Smith handled return duties over the first three weeks but faced criticism following costly miscues, including a critical postseason fumble against Seattle. The Rams are now looking toward Kyren Williams and Tutu Atwell to handle special teams return duties moving forward.
