Alex Lyon Placed On Injured Reserve With Upper Body Injury

Buffalo Sabres goaltender Alex Lyon was placed on injured reserve Thursday due to an upper-body injury sustained during a preseason game last Thursday. Because the placement is retroactive, Buffalo retains the flexibility to activate him at any time. Meanwhile, Mattias Samuelsson was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen is set to start in Columbus, and Colten Ellis will serve as the backup.
