J.J. McCarthy Embeaces Fresh Start With Giants Following Vikings Trade

Acquired via trade from Minnesota, J.J. McCarthy is learning the New York Giants' offense while wearing No. 18 to provide depth. Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy praised his natural release and 48-hour progress. Coach John Harbaugh consulted his brother Jim before the deal. McCarthy will not immediately start over Jameis Winston as he masters the playbook cadence, formations, and terminology, but his dual-threat skill set offers a promising future option for New York.
