Alex Bregman and Cubs Suffered Disappointing Playoff Sweep

Veteran slugger Alex Bregman and teammate Pete Crow-Armstrong struggled mightily atop the Chicago Cubs' lineup in San Diego, going a combined 0 for 15 with a walk and eight strikeouts over two games. Bregman played just over a week after he was hit in the face with a foul ball. The Cubs managed just eight hits over 18 innings against San Diego's pitching staff, suffering a 4-1 loss in Game 2 to complete a two-game Wild Card Series sweep and ending their season.
