Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Sidelined Two Weeks with Lower-Body Injury

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will miss the Edmonton Oilers' Opening Night matchup due to a lower-body injury and is expected to be sidelined for approximately two weeks. The 33-year-old forward produced 20 goals, 56 points, and 133 shots over 72 regular-season games in 2025-26. In his absence, Colton Dach and Owen Michaels are slated to step into heightened roles up the center of the ice, while Nugent-Hopkins should remain on waiver wires until further updates are provided.
