Aydar Suniev Assigned to AHL After Strong Preseason Showing

Following a standout preseason where he scored three goals in two games, Aydar Suniev was left off the Calgary Flames' opening-night roster and assigned to the AHL's Calgary Wranglers. While his offensive skill is evident, head coach Ryan Huska emphasized the need for Suniev to develop consistency without the puck, win battles, and support teammates defensively. The Flames believe major minutes in the AHL will better prepare him for a permanent NHL impact.
