Cam Schlittler Dominates Red Sox With 10 Strikeouts In Game 1 Shutout

Yankees ace Cam Schlittler delivered 6.1 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts and two hits allowed in a 9-0 Game 1 victory over the Boston Red Sox. Throwing a career-high 117 pitches, he relied heavily on a diving curveball to rack up 24 whiffs before exiting to 'MVP' chants. Schlittler lowered his career ERA against Boston to 0.47 and joined elite company as one of six pitchers with multiple 10-K scoreless postseason starts in MLB history, putting New York on the brink of the ALDS.
