Brandon Young Emerges as Rotation Anchor for Baltimore Orioles

Undrafted right-hander Brandon Young emerged as a key rotation anchor for the Baltimore Orioles in 2026, making 28 starts and throwing 156.2 innings with a 3.56 ERA and 2.3 bWAR. After struggling in 2025, Young successfully revamped his repertoire by dropping his cutter, adding a sinker, and leaning on a dominant slider that generated a 41.6% whiff rate. Controlled through 2029, he provided vital stability amid staff injuries and projects as a reliable piece moving forward.
