Aaron Judge Sidelined From Wild Card Roster Due To Calf Strain

Aaron Judge was omitted from the New York Yankees' Wild Card Series roster against the Boston Red Sox while recovering from a moderate right calf strain. Although he took live batting practice and pushed to play, manager Aaron Boone determined he was not ready. Judge hit .241 with 18 home runs in 66 games following a prior rib fracture this season and could rejoin the roster if the Yankees advance. New York won Game 1 9-0 in his absence behind Ben Rice.
