Luis Garcia Showing Signs of Heating Up for Yankees

New York Yankees first baseman Luis Garcia showed encouraging signs ahead of the playoffs during a 6-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles. After struggling in September with a .224 average over his first 18 games, Garcia hit a 105.3 mph ball up the middle, drew a sixth-inning walk, and laced an RBI single off lefty Grant Wolfram in the seventh. Manager Aaron Boone hopes the late surge signals a return to form for the slugger as the Yankees prepare for the postseason.
