Griffin Jax Exits Start Early Due to Lower-Back Contusion

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Griffin Jax exited Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after taking a 104 mph comebacker off his lower back from Trea Turner in the third inning. Jax completed the inning before being replaced by Steven Matz. The removal is believed to be precautionary with Tampa Bay already locked into the American League's top postseason seed ahead of the ALDS opener on Oct. 3.
