Chandler Simpson Sidelined with Foot Injury Until ALDS Opener

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Chandler Simpson is not playing Saturday against Philadelphia and is unlikely to play in Sunday's regular-season finale after fouling a ball off his right foot on Friday. While Simpson noted his foot is only slightly sore, Tampa Bay expects to rest the speedy outfielder until Game 1 of the ALDS on Oct. 3. Simpson finishes his regular season batting .306 with 46 stolen bases and 66 runs scored in 612 plate appearances.
