Panthers Place Linebacker Claudin Cherelus on Injured Reserve

Carolina Panthers linebacker Claudin Cherelus was placed on injured reserve on Saturday after suffering a shoulder injury during Week 2. Cherelus had already been ruled out for Week 3 on Friday and must now miss at least four games. The linebacker recorded one tackle across 36 special teams snaps over Carolina's first two games of the season. To fill his spot on the active 53-man roster, the Panthers signed linebacker Maema Njongmeta off of their practice squad.
