San Jose Sharks Waive Goaltender Eric Comrie for Reassignment
The San Jose Sharks have placed goaltender Eric Comrie on waivers to reassign him to the American Hockey League. Comrie, who served as Winnipeg's backup netminder over the past two seasons, stopped 14 of 16 shots in just over 30 minutes of action during his sole preseason appearance for San Jose. Expected to fulfill a depth role between the NHL and AHL, Comrie projects as the top recall option should Yaroslav Askarov or Alex Nedeljkovic sustain an injury this season.
