Clarke Schmidt Lands on 15-Day IL With Right Bicep Neuritis

The New York Yankees placed relief pitcher Clarke Schmidt on the 15-day injured list due to right bicep neuritis, retroactive to Monday, ruling him out for the Wild Card series. Schmidt experienced soreness warming up Sunday, dealing another blow to a bullpen where he made just one big-league appearance following Tommy John surgery. Bradley Hanner was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to fill his spot as the team prepares for the postseason.
