Matthew Liberatore Earns Run Support in Win Over Pirates

St. Louis Cardinals left-hander Matthew Liberatore earned badly needed run support in a 5-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Despite allowing a 434-foot home run to Brandon Lowe in the second inning, Liberatore settled down to pitch five strong innings, holding the Pirates to just one run before being removed with two outs in the sixth. He carries a 5-14 record and 5.36 ERA as he closes out the regular season.
