San Francisco 49ers Place Defensive Lineman C.J. West on IR

The San Francisco 49ers placed defensive lineman C.J. West on injured reserve on Wednesday. West is set to undergo surgery for a bone chip in his knee and will miss a chunk of the season. He started each of the first two games, recording five total tackles. To help offset his absence and maintain defensive line depth, the 49ers signed veteran Naquan Jones off the Minnesota Vikings practice squad.
