Bruce Thornton Impresses Houston Rockets During Summer League

Second-round draft pick Bruce Thornton turned heads in the 2026 NBA Summer League, averaging 18.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 2.6 steals while shooting 40 percent from three for the Houston Rockets. The 23-year-old Ohio State product faces a crowded point guard room featuring Fred VanVleet, Reed Sheppard, Marcus Smart, and Amen Thompson, but offers downhill playmaking chops and defensive upside that could earn him minutes under Ime Udoka.
