Brandin Cooks Signs With San Francisco 49ers Practice Squad

Veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks is signing with the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad to bolster their injury-depleted receiving corps. A lifelong 49er fan, the 32-year-old speedster participated in his first practice Wednesday, wearing a No. 84 jersey. Coach Kyle Shanahan noted Cooks will have an opportunity to reach the active roster soon. Cooks needs just 10,000 career receiving yards to become the sixth active NFL player to reach that milestone.
