Blade Tidwell Placed on IL With UCL Sprain Likely Needing Surgery

The San Francisco Giants placed starting pitcher Blade Tidwell on the 15-day injured list with a high-grade UCL sprain after he exited Monday's win over the Twins with elbow soreness. Tidwell is scheduled to meet with a specialist, but the injury likely ends his 2026 and 2027 seasons due to Tommy John surgery. He joins several other Giants starters needing the operation. Reliever Braxton Roxby was called up from AAA Sacramento to take his roster spot.
