Aydar Suniev Makes Early Push For Calgary Roster Spot

Calgary Flames forward Aydar Suniev is making an early impression in the preseason, scoring three goals through his first two games. Following an offseason focused on fine-tuning his shot and improving his defensive-zone play without the puck, the 2023 third-round pick is competing for an opening-night roster spot. Suniev spent most of last year with the AHL Wranglers, tallying 15 goals and 23 points in 55 games, and is now pressing for extended NHL opportunities.
