Joel Blomqvist Solid in Relief Appearance During Preseason Win

Goaltender Joel Blomqvist took the ice for the second half of the Pittsburgh Penguins' 4-1 preseason opener victory over the Buffalo Sabres. Blomqvist allowed one goal on a power-play shot high to the blocker side, but otherwise turned in a steady performance in relief of starter Sergei Murashov. The appearance provided valuable game minutes as Pittsburgh evaluates its goaltending depth behind the main roster prior to the regular season opener.
