Colt Keith Headed to Injured List With Season-Ending Thumb Sprain

Detroit Tigers third baseman Colt Keith was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday due to a left thumb sprain, ending his 2026 season. Keith had missed games late last week with thumb soreness before further examinations revealed the structural sprain. The infielder finishes his campaign with a .258/.322/.406 slash line, 10 home runs, and reliable production across 140 contests. Gleyber Torres and Eduardo Valencia are expected to absorb DH duties in his absence.
