Avonte Maddox Out for Season After Undergoing Foot Surgery

Detroit Lions defensive back Avonte Maddox will miss the remainder of the season and undergo surgery to repair a foot injury suffered during Week 2 against the Buffalo Bills, head coach Dan Campbell announced. Maddox had started Detroit's first two games while Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph were sidelined by injuries. His loss leaves the Lions' secondary severely depleted and forced the team to sign Jalen Mills.
