Kevin Durant And Rockets Eye Redemption In 2026-27 Season

Following a disappointing first-round playoff exit in year one of the Kevin Durant era, the Houston Rockets enter the 2026-27 season largely running it back. The return of veteran point guard Fred VanVleet from a torn ACL is expected to resolve the team's playmaking issues and unlock chemistry with Durant. With Durant holding a player option for next year, the 37-year-old star and a talented core featuring Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson aim to contend for the Western Conference title.
