Troy Melton Exits Early With Injury as Tigers Fall to White Sox

Detroit Tigers right-hander Troy Melton struggled through a rainy outing and left in the fourth inning with an apparent injury during an 8-1 loss to the White Sox. Melton, who missed the first 10 weeks with elbow trouble, allowed runs and showed visible frustration before trainers checked on him. The loss officially eliminated the Tigers from postseason contention. Melton finishes his season nearing 130 total innings as Detroit prepares to close out the year.
