Shohei Ohtani Set to Return as Designated Hitter on Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed Shohei Ohtani could return to the lineup as early as Wednesday against San Diego. Out since Sept. 7, Ohtani will play every game down the stretch strictly as a designated hitter, as he will not pitch for the remainder of the season or playoffs. Through 130 games, he is batting .277 with 30 home runs, 80 RBIs, and a .902 OPS. Meanwhile, a pitcher from his high school alma mater threw a ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium.
