TJ Friedl Designated for Assignment by Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds designated TJ Friedl for assignment on Sunday to open a 40-man roster spot for Carson Spiers. Friedl's production plummeted in 2026 following a strong 2023 campaign and solid 2024, managing just a .510 OPS through 91 games. Heading into arbitration this winter with a $3.8 million salary, his long-term future with the organization is in doubt.
