Emmet Sheehan Dominates Giants as Dodgers Consider Postseason Role
Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Emmet Sheehan is making a strong case for October after striking out nine over 5.1 scoreless relief innings in Sunday's 3-1 win over San Francisco. Sheehan allowed just one hit and one walk, lowering his stats across his last three MLB appearances to one run allowed and 24 strikeouts in 17 innings. Though optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City to start a playoff game and stay fresh, the Dodgers are building him toward a postseason bulk-relief role.
