Francisco Alvarez Belts Go-Ahead Three-Run Homer in Mets Win

Francisco Alvarez provided a crucial spark for the Mets, hitting his 16th home run of the season—a go-ahead, opposite-field three-run blast off Andrew Painter—in a 10-3 blowout win over the Phillies. While his defensive metrics have ticked up due to a new upright stance, Alvarez has endured an 11-for-85 slump lately, lowering his batting average to .229 with a .708 OPS, though his immense power remains a vital asset for New York.
