Carlton Davis III Downgraded to Out for Patriots' Home Opener vs. Steelers

The New England Patriots downgraded starting cornerback Carlton Davis III to out for Sunday's home opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a neck injury. The 29-year-old played 49 of 50 snaps in the season opener but missed three straight practices leading up to the game. With Davis sidelined, Charles Woods and Marcus Jones are expected to see increased action alongside All-Pro Christian Gonzalez, with Karon Prunty providing secondary depth.
