Kyle Finnegan Placed on Injured List with Groin Strain to End 2026

Detroit Tigers reliever Kyle Finnegan was placed on the injured list with a season-ending groin strain, concluding a difficult first year of his two-year, $19 million contract. Finnegan struggled significantly in 2026, posting a 4.30 ERA and 5.42 FIP alongside career-worst strikeout (17.4%) and walk (12.6%) rates due to diminished fastball command. He remains under contract for $8 million in 2027.
